The Sunday Summary: The internet, the mundane, and the degree of difficulty

In an effort to help me keep up with everything I post each week, here is my latest “Sunday Summary” of my posts from the week.

Mon, August 28: A good mental model of the internet is essential
As with many areas of life, having a solid mental model of how things work is important. When driving a car, you don’t need to know the intricacies of how it works, but understanding the basics of the accelerator, brakes and steering is crucial. Similar knowledge of the internet is equally important.

Tue, August 29: The magic is in the mundane
Working on mundane things can be, well, mundane, but they’re crucial. Getting the small things right is what leads consumers to magical experiences. Do you ever see trash on the ground at Disney World? That level of cleanliness is mundane, but magical.

Wed, August 30: You never have all of the facts
Decisions need to be made before you have 100% of the facts, so knowing that ahead of time will help you feel better about making those “early” decisions.

Thu, August 31: Degree of difficulty doesn’t count
There are ways I could make this blog much more difficult to write (coding it all by hand, for example), but that extra work on my part…
