Using 2022 to get better, not great
I recently saw a quote from the user “Kinsey” on Deepstash that said: “ A New Year’s resolution shouldn’t be at becoming great at something but at becoming better or happier. “
I generally don’t set “New Year’s resolutions”, but there are some things that I’m working toward in 2022. While there are some bigger goals I’m working on, most of my plans for 2022 involve making myself better at various things. That includes:
Fitness: I’ve been quite consistent with Supernatural through the second half of 2021 and plan to keep it going strong. I’ll never be an Adonis, but I’ll keep working toward improved health and fitness.
Faith: My friend Tim invited me to join the “ 49-Week Challenge “ to read through the Bible, and here I am on day two. So far, so good!
Learning: I’m currently on a 1,307 day streak with reviewing cards in Anki, and I continue to slowly add more to the mix. I need to be careful not to add too much and have more than I can handle, but for now I continue to enjoy throwing new ideas in there to remember them in the future.
Reading: I don’t have a specific goal with reading, but in order to keep up daily blogging, I’ll need to be good about reading consistently. Between paperback books, Kindle, Blinkist, and other sources, I’m feeling good about my flow of inputs.
